We
are looking for volunteers interested in the following:
Costumed
Characters (Victorian - Charles Dickens Theme)
- to attend opening night, other festival
events and activities as well as
. strolling in the
Navy Yard Park and Toddy Jones Park to help create
. the Victorian /
Dickens Theme.
- You
can choose to participate at one event or activity,
on one particular
. day / evening or
at several. Costumes will be provided if needed.
Singers
- individuals, small groups, or choirs
- choirs
to sing at opening night.
- carolers to sing at various locations on opening
night, at other festival
. events and activities,
at the Navy Yard Parkette and Toddy Jones Park.
- individual singers are invited to come and join
with others to form
. caroling groups.
- caroling costumes or Victorian / Dickens themed
costumes are
. encouraged. Costumes
will be provided if needed (and available)
- You
can choose to participate at one event or activity,
on one particular
. day / evening or
at several.
Musicians
- we are particularly looking for musicians who
play historic types of
. instruments to entertain
for short periods of time at particular events or
. at particular locations
during the festival days and evenings.
- You
can choose to participate at one event or activity,
on one particular
. day / evening or
at several.
Storytellers
- persons who would be interested in telling small
goups of visitors
. short stories in
the Victorian, Historic (related to Amherstburg)
or
. Dickens theme.
- You
can choose to participate at one event or activity,
on one particular
. day / evening or
at several.
Actors
- existing theatre groups or persons who would like
to join with others to
. form a group to
present one or more short dramatic, comedic or
. musical vignettes
related to the Victorian / Dickens theme.
- You
can choose to participate at one event or activity,
on one particular
. day / evening or
at several.
Food
Vendors
-
persons or businesses interested in operating their
own or helping to
. set up and operate
food vending tents in Toddy Jones Park.
- suggestions for food items for sale - popcorn,
hot dogs, roasted
. chestnuts, chili,
soup, and other items that are warm and can be
. easily carried.
- You
can choose to participate at one event or activity,
on one particular
. day / evening or
at several.
Other
Volunteers
- to help set up and take down stage and tents at
Navy Parkette on
. opening night.
- to help serve refreshments on opening night.
- to welcome guests at the carriage rides and to
assist them getting on
. and off the rides.
- to help serve refreshments at the gingerbread
warming house.
- to welcome guests in the warming house.
- to welcome guests and help serve for Holiday Cheer
event at the
. Gordon House.
